The Clapping Song
Thursday, August 2nd, 2007This song came out this morning while I was playing with my 10 month old daughter. She is at that age where she is copying a lot of what we do, and while she can wave hello/ goodbye and mimic the sounds we make, she can’t clap her hands as yet.
I thought I’d help her out and created a song to help. It’s a simple little ditty and I sit with Georgie on my lap and help her clap as I sing.
Clap your hands it makes you feel good
Clap your hands like a monkey would
Clap up high and clap down low
Clap you hands fast, and now clap slow.
She really enjoyed it, especially the clapping high and low. Feel free to change it up and create songs to amuse your children. Best of all, your kids don’t mind how well you sing.
I play guitar and she loves to sit and watch while I do. I’m sure there will be a lot more songs to come.
